The Oktoberfest Party You Don’t Have to Work
Somebody always ends up standing over the grill all afternoon. They miss the party. They eat last. They spend the whole event answering “are those ready yet?”
That person shouldn’t be you. Our chefs handle the brats — simmered in Coors Light, grilled, and served hot with sauerkraut and grilled onions. The sides, the beer cheese and the brownies show up on the same table from the same chef.
Grilled, not boiled and held
Simmered in Coors Light, then grilled. Served hot, not under a heat lamp.
Chef Joe’s beer cheese
Scratch-made beer cheese sauce for the brats, the fries and the mac. It is the thing people photograph.
Every guest picks a side
Potato salad, pasta salad, wedge fries or mashed, with premium sides available. Not one tray, take it or leave it.
Build Your Oktoberfest Spread
Start with the Beer Brat Bar. Add as much of the rest as your crowd wants. A chef sizes everything to your headcount.

★ The anchor
Grilled Beer Brat Bar
Brats on buns, simmered in Coors Light, then grilled. Sauerkraut, grilled onions and a side for every guest. A second brat per guest can be added for the hungry crowd.
Chef Joe’s Specialty Beer Cheese Sauce
Scratch-made. Add it to any order; it goes on the brats, the wedge fries and the mac.
Polish Sausage & Vienna Hot Dogs
Grilled Maxwell Street Polish for the adults, real Chicago Vienna hot dogs for the kids, next to the brats on the same bar.
The German Sides — with advance notice
Not on the everyday menu. Made for Oktoberfest caterings when you book ahead, and worth booking ahead for.
Spaetzle
Soft egg noodles by the full pan. The side that makes it a German table, not a cookout.
Pretzel Bites with Beer Cheese & Brown Mustard
Warm, salted, built for the crowd that hovers near the station.
German Potato Salad
Warm, tangy, bacon-forward. Swap it in as the brat-bar side.
Sauerkraut by the Pan
Beyond the topping portion: full pans for the table, with brown mustard and sour cream on the side.
Vegetarian sausage, gluten-free buns and individually packed gluten-free meals are available the same way. Give a chef the counts when you book.
Build-Your-Own Mac & Cheese
Aged Wisconsin cheddar sauce, mix-ins, beer cheese on top.
Huge Handmade Mozzarella Sticks
The ones voted #1 in Illinois. The pre-dinner grazing station.
Wings
Bone-in and boneless, several sauces.
Grandma Frato’s Brownies
A tray to finish, or the Brownie Bar with toppings when available.
Running a bigger Chicago cookout? The brats are one anchor of The Tailgate on our Chicago-themed menu, with Italian beef, burgers, sausage and peppers and pizza alongside.
Pick Your Side
Every guest picks one. Four are included; the rest are premium sides.
Included:
Premium sides:
Office Oktoberfest
The seasonal party people actually show up for. Delivered hot in insulated carriers and set up by a Frato’s chef on your break-room table or in the warehouse, 15 to 30 minutes before you eat.
Employee appreciation
Interactive and casual. Nothing like the usual sandwich tray.
Manufacturing & shifts
Plants and warehouses, first shift through third. We deliver when your crew eats.
Dealerships & sales floors
Fed between customers, no grill in the parking lot.
Friday lunch, October style
Brats, beer cheese and brownies in place of the pizza. Then back to the pizza.
Backyard & Block-Party Oktoberfest
Host your own party instead of working it. Drop-off with chef setup is the standard; for bigger backyard crowds a chef can stay on-site and run the bar through the afternoon, by request.
Backyard Oktoberfest
Brats and beer cheese on the patio, sides on the table, nobody at the grill.
Block parties & cul-de-sacs
One bar feeds the whole street. Vienna dogs for the kids.
Game days & tailgates
Brats and football. No further explanation required.
Fall family gatherings
Birthdays, reunions, the October get-together before the holidays start.
September and October Fill First

If you have a date in mind, get it on the calendar now and work the details out after. Last-minute? Still worth a call — we’ll tell you honestly whether we can cover it.

Oktoberfest Catering FAQ
What is on an Oktoberfest catering menu from Frato’s?
The Beer Brat Bar is the anchor: brats on buns, simmered in Coors Light and then grilled, served with sauerkraut, grilled onions and a side each guest picks. With advance notice we add the German sides — spaetzle, pretzel bites with beer cheese and brown mustard, German potato salad and sauerkraut by the pan — plus Chef Joe’s Specialty Beer Cheese Sauce, Polish sausage, Vienna hot dogs, mac and cheese, handmade mozzarella sticks, wings and Grandma Frato’s brownies.
Do you make German sides like spaetzle and pretzel bites?
Yes, with advance notice. Spaetzle by the full pan, soft pretzel bites with beer cheese and brown mustard, German potato salad and sauerkraut by the pan are made for Oktoberfest caterings when you book ahead. They are not on the everyday menu, so tell a chef when you inquire and we build them into the order.
Can you handle vegetarian and gluten-free guests at an Oktoberfest?
Yes. Vegetarian sausage, gluten-free buns and individually packed gluten-free meals — brat or vegetarian sausage with German potato salad and sauerkraut — are available with notice. Give a chef the count when you book and each special meal is labeled.
Do you serve it at the office or at a house?
Both. Office Oktoberfest parties are delivered hot and set up by a Frato’s chef, which is how most orders go. Backyard and block-party Oktoberfests can add a chef who stays on-site through the event, by request.
Do I have to grill anything?
No. Our chefs handle the brats, so nobody on your team stands over a grill all afternoon. You hold a beer and talk to your guests.
What sides come with it?
Every guest picks a side. Chef’s Specialty Potato Salad, Chef’s Tri-Colored Vegetarian Pasta Salad, Fresh-Cut Idaho Potato Wedge Fries and Creamy Idaho Mashed Potatoes are included. Loaded wedge fries, Greek or Caesar salad, seasoned rices, Roasted Greek Potatoes, Roasted Corn, Baked Potato and Aged Cheddar Mac N Cheese are available as premium sides.
Can guests have more than one brat?
Yes. A second grilled beer brat per guest can be added to the order. It is the usual call for evening parties, game days and hungrier crowds.
Is the beer cooked off?
The brats are simmered in Coors Light and then grilled, so the beer flavor stays and the alcohol cooks off in the process. If anyone on your team needs to avoid beer entirely, tell a chef and we will prepare their brats separately.
When should I book an Oktoberfest party?
September and October are the busiest stretch of the year for the Beer Brat Bar, so the earlier you reach out, the better your odds on a specific date. Last-minute requests are still worth a call; we will tell you honestly whether we can cover it.
Where do you deliver Oktoberfest catering?
We’re based in Schaumburg and deliver throughout the Chicago suburbs — Hoffman Estates, Elk Grove Village, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, Des Plaines, Roselle, Barrington, Itasca, Elgin and more — plus Chicago.
Prost. Now Book the Date.
Tell a chef the date and the headcount. You get a quote, and on the day a chef shows up with hot brats and sets it up.
